Wilbur, The Snow Ghoul - NEW Handmade Extreme Primitive Snowman and E-Pattern

"Wilbur, The Snow Ghoul" isn't the friendliest of snowmen. You see, he's a ghoul. He's a snow ghoul.

Now you might be wondering how that can be. Snowmen can't be ghouls - or can they?

Well, there is nothing that says snowmen can't be ghosts or evil spirits. The question is whether he really is ghoulish enough to rob a grave?

The good news is that Wilbur doesn't do that and is actually a friendly ghoul. That is - if ghouls can be friendly? Can they?

"Wilbur, The Snow Ghoul" is a 6" extreme primitive warm & natural cloth body snowman ornament. He has an embroidered face with black embroidered eyes, black embroidered nose, embroidered ghoulish mouth and blushed cheeks. He is coffee stained throughout.

He has raw mohair hair under his flannel hat and is wearing his favorite fringed flannel jacket which is secured by 4 large X's. A fringed flannel scarf is wrapped around his neck.

Wilbur hopes that his ghoulish appearance doesn't scare anyone off. He'd just love to come to your house. Do you dare let him?

There is one "Wilbur, The Snow Ghoul" handmade doll available on my new Linda Walsh Originals Handmade Dolls and Crafts website. Just CLICK HERE for his new handmade doll.

However, if you want to make your own "Wilbur, The Snow Ghoul" you can do so. His new pattern is available as an instant download e-pattern on my Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns website. Just CLICK HERE for his new e-pattern.

Brr....It's Cold Outside, Bruce! He Just Loves To Skate!

"Brr...Why Is It So Cold, Laura! " is a very unusual snow-lady. You see, she really doesn't like the cold weather. She's much rather stay inside her finely decorated "pink lady" Victorian house than be outside in the cold.

However, she promised her son, "Brr... It's Cold Outside, Bruce!" that she'd take him to the Victorian skating party at Regency Park this weekend.

Bruce just loves to skate and is getting quite good at it. In fact, he's won several figure skating trophies which his mother has displayed on the living room mantle. But, he doesn't just love figure skating. He loves ice hockey too and is also very accomplished at that sport as well. So much so that everyone wants him on their team.

"Brr...It's Cold Outside, Bruce!" is a 9" three-tiered self-standing Victorian snowman warm & natural cloth doll. He has an embroidered face with X-crossed eyes, resin carrot nose, X-crossed embroidered mouth, and blushed cheeks.

He has a full head of straight mohair hair which is barely controlled under his flannel Sculley cap.

He is wearing his favorite lined and coordinated Victorian jacket with top stitching, and cuffed sleeves. His jacket is secured in the front with three buttons.

A fringed flannel scarf is wrapped around his neck and tied in a knot in the front. His skates are flung over his shoulder and he is carrying his newspaper sack. He figured he might as well deliver his papers on the way to the skating party.

Bruce is looking forward to the skating party at Regency Park. Laura would much rather stay inside where it's warm.

I've Revised My Linda's How-Do-I Series? How To Create A Print Pattern and E-Pattern FREE E-Book

It seems amazing to me that my Linda's How-Do-I Series? How to Design a Print Pattern and E-Pattern FREE E-Book has been downloaded 7,441 times. That's right - 7,441 times. That's A LOT of pattern designers out there.

Now you might think that this would be bad news and that as a pattern designer I would be threatened by this as I gave away trade secrets to the competition. Actually, I'm thrilled.

Thrilled because there are so many individuals out there who want to design their own patterns and thrilled because this means the interest in sewing, creating, and selling of e-products on the Internet is growing. More growth means more business for all of us. Especially if it means more growth for e-patterns, which are still in their infancy on the Internet.

So, I decided that I should REVISE and UPDATE my original FREE e-book and I'm happy to report that it is finished and has been added to my Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns website under FREE E-Books and E-Products.

So, did I give away even more trade secrets? Guilty as charged.

Is more competition bad news? Absolutely not! I couldn't be happier, especially if it translates into more business for e-patterns on the Internet.

You know my crafting community motto - what helps one of us helps all of us.

If you'd like to download the FREE REVISED VERSION of my Linda's How-Do-I Series? How To Create A Print Pattern and E-Pattern please just CLICK HERE or click on the picture above.

I hope you enjoy the FREE REVISED VERSION of my Linda's How-Do-I Series? How To Create A Print Pattern and E-Pattern E-Pamphlet and hope it motivates you to create your own e-patterns.

Doug, The Handy Dandy Gentleman - He Can Make Anything!

"Petronella, The Birdhouse Lady!" is very concerned about her bird friends and their survival over the long, cold winter months.

In fact she is so concerned she asked her husband, "Doug, The Handy Dandy Gentleman!" to make her several birdhouses that she could put in the yarn to help her feathered friends.

The problem is that Petronella doesn't want just any birdhouses. She wants fancy Victorian birdhouses, with style and class. Lots of details and intricate molding.

Doug, on the other hand, doesn't want to invest so much time in making birdhouses that are just going to be destroyed by Petronella's fine feathered friends. He doesn't want to make them, but he loves to please Petronella.

"Doug, The Handy Dandy Gentleman!" is a 13" squared bottomed self-standing Victorian snowman warm & natural cloth doll. He has an embroidered face with black bead eyes, resin carrot nose, outline embroidered mouth, and blushed cheeks. He also sports a cute wool fleece mustache.

Doug a full head of straight white mohair hair that is barely controlled under his lined felt top hat.

He is wearing his favorite felt jacket with white piping along all the edges, a left side breast pocket, and two front pockets. His jacket is secured in the front with three buttons and two large fringed scarves are tied around his neck and then in a knot in the front.

He also has two felt earmuffs over his ears to keep him warm and being the gentleman that he is he's carrying a handkerchief in his breast pocket. = He just never knows when his wife, Petronella, will need it.

"Doug, The Handy Dandy Gentleman!" knows how much Petronella's fine feathered friends mean to her and has no problem making them birdhouses. It's just that to have to make finely crafted and delicately featured Victorian birdhouses for "the birds" is really going overboard.

There is one "Doug, The Handy Dandy Gentleman!" handmade doll available on my new Linda Walsh Originals Handmade Dolls and Crafts website. Just CLICK HERE for his new handmade doll.

However, if you want to make your own "Doug, The Handy Dandy Gentleman!" you can do so. His new pattern is available as an instant download e-pattern on my Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns website. Just CLICK HERE for his new e-pattern.

It's December 1st and yesterday we had our first sprinkling of snow.

That statement is actually kind of funny since I LOVE making snow-lady and snowman dolls. Sewing snow-ladies and snowmen - YES! Shoveling snow - NO!

It looks like we're at the beginning of a long winter. One, I fear, will have a LOT of snow. Despite that forecast I have to tell you that I'm in a terrific mood.

Now you might wonder why that is. Well, it's because I LOVE the holiday season. Second to the FALL season it is my favorite time of the year. In fact, today the FALL decorations are being put away and the holiday decorations are going to be put out. And, this year, I have some new holiday decorations to display. I can hardly wait.

Sweetheart Faith! - The Sweetest Victorian Snow-Lady Around! - NEW E-Pattern

"Sweetheart Faith!" is just the sweetest snow-lady you'd ever want to meet. She just loves her life, loves being outside, and especially loves being in the garden.

Even though she's been growing flowers for decades she's still amazed by their beauty. There isn't a flower or plant that she can't identify or any flower or plant that she can't nurse back to health.

She has quite the "green thumb" for a snow-lady and is the envy of all the "ladies" in her Victorian gardening club. If you've got a gardening question - ask "Sweetheart Faith!"

Got a sick plant - give it to "Sweetheart Faith!" Need help designing your Victorian garden - ask "Sweetheart Faith!" Need a floral arrangement for a special occasion - ask "Sweetheart Faith!" to help you. Anything and everything floral - ask "Sweetheart Faith!"

"Sweetheart Faith!" is a 14" squared bottomed self-standing Victorian snow-lady warm & natural cloth doll. She has an embroidered face with black bead eyes, resin carrot nose, outline embroidered mouth, and blushed cheeks.

She has a full head of straight gray mohair hair that is barely controlled under her lace trimmed and gathered bonnet.

She is wearing a scalloped eyelet lace slip that is gathered at the waist. Her sleeveless dress is lace trimmed on the bottom and gathered at the neck.

She has a felt jacket with top stitching along all the edges and lace trimmed front pockets. Her jacket is secured in the front with a button and two large fringed scarves are tied around her neck and then in a knot in the front.

"Sweetheart Faith!" has such a "green thumb" that she's won the award for the best grown orchids five years in a row. Plus, she's won the award for the best variegated violets three years in a row. "Sweetheart Faith!" certainly knows her flowers and plants.

If you want to make your own "Sweetheart Faith!" you can do so. Her new pattern is available as an instant download e-pattern on my Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns website. Just CLICK HERE for her new e-pattern.

Snow Go! Noodles - He's Perfect! NEW Handmade Snowman Doll and E-Pattern

"Snow Go! Noodles" couldn't be any nicer. He couldn't be any more positive and goodhearted. He couldn't be any more charming, or intelligent, or distinctly dressed. He couldn't be any more of a philanthropist than he already is. He couldn't be any more helpful or physically fit.

He couldn't be..... Well, let's just say he's perfect.

Perfect for a snowman - that is!

Susie Snow, Spoon Me Up and Sammy Snow, Spoon Me Up - NEW Wooden Spoon Ornaments and E-Patterns

"Susie Snow, Spoon Me Up" could hardly wait to tell her brother, "Sammy Snow, Spoon Me Up" that the forecast was for a thaw.

You see, "Susie Snow, Spoon Me Up" and her brother are very special snow people. Or should we say - a very special snow-lady and snowman. The reason being - they are not just made of snow. They have wood spoons and cloth covered and padded wood heads.

So, in the event of melting - well, that just won't happen. Or, just shouldn't happen in Susie's way of thinking.

Susie is anxious to see if they will melt so she'd been waiting for the first sign of spring. Waiting for the thaw.

"Sammy Snow, Spoon Me Up" isn't as confident as his sister and isn't sure he wants to test that theory. He's not looking forward to the first thaw as he doesn't want to melt.

"Susie Snow, Spoon Me Up" is a 13" Wood covered spoon snow-lady ornament. She has a wooden spoon body and warm and natural spoon covered body and head. Her face is embroidered and she has two button eyes and a resin carrot nose. Her cheeks are blushed and her head is padded.

She has straight and thick braided yarn for hair along the side seams of her head with the back left bald. A ribbon and ribbon bow decorated straw hat covers the back of her head.

She is wearing a long felt dress decorated with a ribbon trim centerpieces and brass snowflakes. A fringed felt scarf decorated with brass snowflakes is wrapped around her neck and overlapped in front.

An Unlikely Group of Angels - Sophisticated Gwen, Happy Molly Angel, and Who Me? Angel Angela - NEW Doll Pin Angels and E-Patterns

"Sophisticated Gwen", "Happy Molly Angel", and "Who Me? Angel Angela" are a very unusual group of angels. Very unusual indeed.

You see, they aren't at all alike. In fact, they are as different as, well - angels can be.

"Sophisticated Gwen" is the epitome of sophistication and style. She is very much in "vogue" and aware of the latest trends in fashion. Her special charge is to protect all the "high fashion models" out there. It's a big task as, let's just say, the "high fashion models" don't always behave themselves.

"Happy Molly Angel" could care less about fashion. In fact, style and fashion mean nothing to her. She'd much rather spend her day crafting up a storm and doesn't care if she breaks a nail or get her hands messy. In fact, it doesn't even matter to her if her clothes get messy. Sometimes the messier the better. Her special charge is all the crafters out there. It's a tall order as there are millions and millions of them.

"Who Me? Angel Angela" isn't quite sure why she's here or what her special mission is. When asked to do something she inevitably answers "Who Me?" She's a shy as a mouse and doesn't have a lot of confidence. She's not sure that she's really good at anything in particular and isn't too sure that she'll be able to fulfill her mission. Her charge is all the shy people out there.

"Sophisticated Gwen" is a 5" wood doll pin angel. She has a painted gold painted wood body and flesh painted wood face. Her face is drawn and water colored shaded.

Her satin dress has a wired metallic ribbon overdress. She has a mass of loopy white doll hair along the sides of her head with the back left bald. There is a slim ribbon bow under her chin and she's carrying a small grapevine wreath decorated with thin ribbon and bows.

"Sophisticated Gwen's" wings are made of a wired ribbon and tied in a bow in back.

Andy Angel and Annie Angel - Angels With A Special Charge!

Annie and Andy Angel are a very special "pair" of angels.

You see, they are "raggedy" angels and their charge is to protect all the "raggedies" out there. And, that is a really tall order as there are millions of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy dolls out there.

Annie and Andy Angel are not sure exactly how to go about their mission. They don't know if Annie Angel should take all the Raggedy Ann's and whether or not Andy Angel should take all the Raggedy Andy's. They have a feeling that there are more Raggedy Ann's out there so that is a taller order.

They'll brainstorm together and then decide how they should approach their mission.

Andy Angel is a 5" Raggedy Angel wood doll pin. He has a painted gold painted wood body and flesh painted wood face. His face is drawn in Raggedy Andy style.

He's wearing his favorite blue print shirt with tie ribbon. He has thick, braided raggedy red yarn for his curly hair just along the top of his head. The sides and the back of his head are bald.

Andy Angel's wings are made of a wired ribbon and tied in a bow in back.

Another One Of My Linda's How-Do-I Series? FREE E-Book " How To Create Fast and Easy Cloth, Paper, and E-Printable Ornaments"

I am very partial to handmade gifts, especially those that have been made by my family and friends. Given that I’m in the Grandmother phase of my life right now I’m especially partial to handmade gifts from my grandchildren. Whether it is a card or an ornament I love them and cherish them all. In fact, nothing pleases me more than receiving a handmade card or gift from my family and friends at the holidays.

With these economic times when money is scarce for so many people my thoughts turn to the different times in my life when money was scarce for me and the handmade gifts that I created and gave at the holidays.

If you are a reader of my Linda's Blog you know that I come from a family of crafters and that when I was growing up at the holidays we always had a Christmas crafting project to do.

One year it was a church scene created out of Styrofoam that my Dad and I created. My Dad painstakingly cut the Styrofoam to form a cone steeple and painstakingly cut the windows so they were a half circle at the top and had window panes. We added colored plastic to the inside of the windows and used a lighted angel inside the church so the colored glass would shine through. Then we added candle carolers, candle trees, and snowflake sprinkled felt for snow for the outside of the church. We used this scene as one of our Christmas displays until the foam finally fell apart. I loved that scene and especially loved working with my Dad on it.

Another year I decided to knit large stockings for everyone in the family. I knit their names in the top and each had their own special knit decoration on it. The stockings were knit with red, green, and white yarn and were about 24” long. We used those, too, until they finally fell apart.

Another year when I was in my twenties I decided to make all the gifts for my family and friends as money was tight that year. So, I decided to make handmade Christmas ornaments for my friends with their names embroidered on them and other handmade gifts for my family. Some members of my family got dolls (of course) and some got quilts, etc. My friends each got several ornaments of different types with their names on them. Some were trees, candy canes, snowmen, stockings, etc.

When my twin granddaughters were young they made their Grandfather and I handmade paper ornaments with their mother. They cut the ornaments out of construction paper and glued glitter all over the front of them. Then they added our names and their names to the back of the ornaments. A hole was created in the top of each and a piece of yarn was used as a hanger. They are some of my favorite ornaments and we still put them on our Christmas tree every year.

In fact, our Christmas tree is only decorated with handmade ornaments. You’ll find ornaments my grandchildren made or ones I've made over the years (and there are many of those) on our tree. Some are made of paper, some are cloth, and some are floral decorations I've made.

Others might be beaded ornaments my Mother and I made one year or wooden clothespin reindeer that I made 30+ years ago. I even have foam toy soldiers that I made from a kit over 35 years ago. Plus, I have wooden ornaments that I painted from a kit I bought close to 30 years ago.

You might also find beaded ornaments a friend of mine made, terracotta floral and terracotta cloth ornaments I made, porcelain Santa heads my sister made, a knitted wreath from my Grandmother, or a felt cardinal made by a friend that sits on a branch with an old fashion silver hair clip. There might be silver icicles or wooden dolls.

You just never know what you may find. What you can count on is that each and every ornament is remembered and loved and painstaking preserved so that we have it for the next holiday season.

So, I thought I would share some easy and fast cloth, paper, and E-Printable ornament ideas with you. Maybe they will entice you to make your own handmade ornaments this year that you’ll cherish and painstakingly preserve for years and years to come.

The same basic outline was used for most of the ornaments whether you are making them out of construction paper, coloring them on heavier stock paper, printing them out on heavy card stock for E-Printables, or making them out of cloth. They can be as easy to make as you want or some of the cloth ones can be more elaborate just by adding beads or other decorations. That, of course, is up to you. We’re providing instructions for the basics. The rest is up to you and your creativity.

Adult supervision is required if you are making these ornaments with young children as some of the ornaments require the use of scissors, Elmer’s glue, hot glue, small decorations, and needle & thread.

Our E-Book is broken down into 4 sections as follows:

Section #1—Instructions and Supplies Needed.

Section #2—BASIC SHAPES and DETAILS for construction paper cut-out ornaments or for coloring ornaments on heavier stock paper.

Section #3—COLORED E-PRINTABLES for creating e-printable ornaments on heavy card stock.

Section #4—E-PATTERN PIECES for felt cloth ornaments that you can decorate as elaborately or as simply as you want.

Please follow the instructions within each of the sections as to how to make the construction paper ornaments, colored ornaments on heavier stock paper, colored e-printables, and felt cloth ornaments.

I hope you enjoy our "How To Create Fast and Easy Cloth, Paper, and E-Printable Ornaments" FREE E-Book. Happy holidays.

Tattered Grace - She Just Wants To Help! NEW Angel E-Pattern

"Tattered Grace's" name might imply that she is a "tattered" angel, but she is anything but "tattered!"

She's as delicate as they come and definitely "ladylike" in appearance and manner.
In fact, she is as far from "tattered" as an angel can be. The only thing that is different about her is that she is faceless and that plays a large part in her name.

You see, "Tattered Grace" represents all the lost souls out there whose dreams were torn and shattered. With no face of her own she can easily represent all the "tattered" souls out there.

"Tattered Grace" is a 12" shabby chic angel doll. She is faceless with a cloth body and has a mass of shiny pearl yarn hair glued all over her head. A gold halo hangs over her head and her boots are cross laced with silver DMC embroidery floss.

She is wearing fringed bloomers that are gathered at the waist and legs. Her angel dress has a lace trimmed center panel, lace trimmed sleeves and is gathered at the neck and waist. There is 2 layers of lace trimming along the bottom hem of her dress and lace trimming around her neck. Flat lace is wrapped around her waist for a waistband and decorated with a silver DMC bow.

Her angel wings are lined and lace trimmed along the edges and has a large bow made of pink tulle on the back for decoration. A pink ribbon floral decoration sits below her chin.

"Tattered Grace" really wants to try and help all the "tattered" souls out there to see that they're dreams are not "lost and shattered." She's just not sure how to go about it. Can you help her?

If you want to make your own "Tattered Grace" you can do so. Her new pattern is available as an instant download e-pattern on my Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns website. Just CLICK HERE for her new e-pattern.

Angelic Marion - She's A Tomboy! - NEW Handmade Angel Doll and E-Pattern

"Angelic Marion" might look like the sweetest angel you'd ever want to see, but she is anything but "angelic!"

She's as tomboyish as they come and loves to rough house it with the best of the boy angels. Of course, angels aren't supposed to rough house - at least that's what they've been told.

However, "Angelic Marion" doesn't think a little rough housing will hurt anyone. It's all on good fun. That is - good "angelic" fun!

"Angelic Marion" is a 12" primitive angel doll who is coffee stained throughout. She has a muslin body and embroidered face with black cross stitched eyes, embroidered nose with orange water color shadowing, and an outline embroidered mouth with orange water colored inside. Her eyebrows are embroidered and she has bright orange water colored and blushed cheeks. Her boots are made of lace trim.

Marion has a mass of cream mohair yarn hair glued all over her head. A gold halo hangs over her head.

She is wearing fringed bloomers that are gathered at the waist and legs. Her angel dress has a lace and ribbon trimmed center panel, lace trimmed sleeves and is gathered at the neck. There is lace trimming along the bottom hem of her dress and lace trimming around her neck. A lace ribbon is wrapped around her waist for a waistband.

Her angel wings are lined and lace trimmed along the edges and has a large lace ribbon bow on the back for decoration.

Despite her desire to rough house "Angelic Marion" is very conscious of her "angel" duties and does not take them lightly. She wants to prove that she can be "angelic" even is she is a bit of a tomboy!"

There is one "Angelic Marion" handmade doll available on my new Linda Walsh Originals Handmade Dolls and Crafts website. Just CLICK HERE for her new handmade doll.

However, if you want to make your own "Angelic Marion" you can do so. Her new pattern is available as an instant download e-pattern on my Linda Walsh Originals E-Patterns website. Just CLICK HERE for her new e-pattern.
