I asked an artist what she made her fairy wings from and she said it was, "Made from transparency sheeting and
fimo gel." Is Fimo Gel the same as TLS or is that a different product?

fimo gel is very transparent, strong, and clear. Donna Kato's NEW liquid is even more clear, and not rubbery in the same
way as the previous liquid---I'm not sure if they are doing both now, or if the new supercedes the old product. Both the
gel and her new liquid are VERY glassy looking. here's a page with transfer images made using fimo gel

answer to TLS. Donna Kato's clay also comes in a liquid. you can check the archives for someone's tests as to the best
clarity. HTH, Deb [/quote:d34d45fa0a]

I am in the depends on the piece group. For most things I want a matte finish and fingerprints add to the piece. On
others a super shiny finish is right and I will work hard to avoid fingerprints and dings because I dislike sanding so
very much. I use fimo and preemo for most of my work. Diana, who is very happy to see the polyclay group so active again

a sanding and polishing kind of gal, i don't think i'd like the finish on a figure if i did that. How do your customers
feel about it? Is it considered unprofessional or sloppy to leave your mark, so to speak? I personally feel it's an
intimate medium and that it doesn't need to look perfectly untouched in the end. i do try to smooth things as much as
possible but so far I don't get too concerned in that. maybe as i learn more and get better I will also find that more
important. i do want to show & sell my work so i want to know what your experience has been with this and what level
of finishing is expected. btw - i am mainly using Cernit which you know is not gooey like sculpey thanks

you are probably right....I did get lazy.... the dragon is a funny story. The artist that made it created it because it
was a tatoo on her arm. She also did the yellow brick roade one...both out of fimo clay I believe. the Pat Dolan cards
were bought at "Art Doing Good" website to help raise money for the Red Cross for Katrina victims. The hot air
balloon one, which is a postcard, was also purchased there. Not sure about which one with flowers...but the ones that
look like paitings are just that, little mini oil paintings on strathmore paper. The last group of ATC's were ones I
recieved in a swap that Melissa hosted. Hope this helps Teri Idahoqltr wrote: [quote:3872c58fcb]I love your postcards!
I wish you had comments on them. I wonder what the dragon is made from and what the story behind the P.Dolan cards is
and the flowers are they embroidered by machine.[/quote:3872c58fcb]
