Posted by Adrian Brentnall on Mon Mar 13, 2006 6:09 PM    Post subject: Insurance for Craft Fairs ?

HI All I've been showing / selling my stained glass, fused glass jewellery and greetings cards at quite a few craft
fairs and Mind, Body, Spirit fairs over the last 6 months. Now, for the first time, a fair organiser has asked for my
Public Liability Cover details - to the tune of £2 million... They say that they can't 'insist' that I have this
insurance - but would (if I don't have it) they'd require me to sign a disclaimer accepting personal responsibility for
any possible claims.... ....so..... I've so far had two quotes - one for £173.50 (!!) and the other for £65. At the
moment I'm doing a fair every month or so - and stand space, transport & etc is expensive enough - without factoring
in this additional expense. What's the general feeling on this ? Is it a common requirement, or do many organisers
simply want a disclaimer - and is this a safe or advisable thing to do..... I'm also insured separately as a Healer -
and I can understand the rationale behind this - but I can't quite see what possible consequences of exhibiting my
crafts could justify the £2M damages..... or is it just a case of 'everybody covering their own backsides .... Looking
forward to your opinions - thanks in advance Adrian www.inspired-glass.co.uk ======return email munged=================

1-2-3 kit (shampoo, gell, home spray). Rushed back home, DD watched a little morning tv while I scrubbed the shampoo

was screaming in pain and nearly broke my leg squeezing it (he is extremely sensitve on his head, and when his hair goes

Ken gets back from his teaching trip Friday afternoon/early evening (no school on Friday due to teacher

Oh I can SO sympathize with you on the lice thing... my daughter had them and it was so bad we had to cut off her hair
to get the suckers out. She had LONG hair and they just wouldn't go away. Keep checking!!! We thought we had them all
and the little beggars came back again about 3 days later. Sounds like you are on track and getting good mileage out of

I understand your situation and I will pray that you find a house soon. I will also say that a person on oxygen does
not need a teenager with a controling attitude around. My mother was on 0-2 for over 7 years and it was terrible and I
don't think she could have lived by herself, but I know she couldn't have taken back talk or anything from any one, much
less a kid. Prayers for your family and you and a house to boot. Jacqueline On 31 Aug 2006 09:16:22 -0700,

Our six stranded embroidery cotton[/quote:2c4a3266cd] is the same as the American "floss" and what we, as
children, used to call "silks"!!! Clear as mud? Still, at least Tandem Cottage can save you quite a bit of
money. Orders over £17 from Tandem Cottage are post free, too, so it pays to stock up. I keep a list of threads I run
out of until it gets up to that amount. I only use my LNS for emergencies now, as apart from the price, since it
changed hands and widened the range of crafts they`re not so good at keeping the Anchor and DMC racks fully stocked.
Another excellent om;ine supplier is SewandSo www.sewandso.co.uk who provide a really fast next day service. Although
their prices ARE low they`re not as low as Tandem Cottage. Worth noting, all the same - particularly if they save you
three hours on a ferry! Both of the above keep a really wide range of most of the popular fabrics and accesories - much
wider than do most LNSs! Pat

I use a combination of both. My first pages that I did are awful, because I did ALL the journaling by hand and as a
typical man my penmanship sucks. That is a discussion we have here from time to time about early done pages, do not
change them as they show how you have improved and grown in your techniques. If you have questions about computer
journaling, ask away as there are MANY in here that will guide ya. Finally, Amy said it in a nutshell, it is for

one of the Ellison (Sizzix) Big Shots. it is the machine that MC has too. Anyhow this evening I tried it out and WOWSY,
WOWSY!! The thing is smooth and easier to use than the Zipe'mate in that there is only two pads needed for it. I tried
a couple sizzix dies, sizzlets dies, a embossing folder and a quikcutz die. The quilcutz I had to find a piece of
fairly stiff cardboard that is about the thickness of a sizzlet, otherwise it will n ot cut all the way thru. It is a
great machine and now the question is, How many of you want now to change your Christmas wish list?! MC told me she can
get a good deal on them, so ask her, otherwise I found mine on ebay for $79. April, Lynne, Teresa, are ya'll gonna
trade up now - LOL!!! OK, I know I should have titled this thread ENABLER ALERT - LOL!!! ((HUGS!)) OKC Dave Check

take a look at www.costco.com and search for "big shot" 54.99 for the starter set, if you are not a member add
5%. The shipping can be steep but the total will probably still be less than you can find it elsewhere. cheers, Lenora

While at Wal-Mart I found a new pink Polaroid digital 7.0 mp for 149.00 . I'm leaning towards that one since it's in my
price range. Since it's pink, it is in the 'race for the cure' line. The lady in the photo lab dept said they've
been flying off the shelves, good price for the mp and it's pink.. I put it in layaway even though Wal-Mart is fazing
out layaway. I have until December 8 to get it out. I am hoping I can have it PIF by then. Thanks for the advice.

just stayed in the dark. I'm not a huge sticker lover, but have seen the gorgeous things Marilyn has done with these

Their website has a page called "Where to Buy" that lists stores. Scroll down to the OK section -- there are
seven. Maybe one is near you. Or there may be one in a city you'll go through on an upcoming journey. Good luck! Gina

Kate!! As WE know you are so talented!! It is beautiful!! Is both the glass and bottle hollowed out? As you have
learned, they are not too had to make, just takes a little creativity and time and once you make one they are fun and
rather addicting!! Some of my shopping yesterday at Michael's they had some HUGE packages of that crafty foam in sheets
in the clearance area. Of course I had to get some and the next time I make some/one I will try it. It has to be easier
