would love to be in your swap... and put forth the proposal to make the size of charm we swap 9" x 11". That
way you can cut two 9" x 5 1/2" charms to make jars out of (you can play "find the other jar of

If you have DGSs into that sort of thing I have the most wonderful design for a red back spider (Black Widow) from a
Jillian Sawyer stained glass book. I have always dreamed of sewing it about five feet high with a dark background and
the black spider with a red satin patch on the back, and silver quilting. But my friends all say that NO-ONE could
possibly sleep under such a quilt. One day . . . . . . . . (evil chuckles) Let me know if you are game to try it.

Wow - my son used to work at Bo's so I know that area. Will have to put that on my agenda. There is also the Red Barn
in Belleview on 301. Are they still open? Another sweet shop I like is the one in Deland. When we take the
Autotrain down, I make that my first stop. It's too far to drive to if we go any other way. My DH is real good about
stopping at quilt shops as long as I don't bust the budget or take way too much time. No one else in my family
quilts although my mom did lots of crocheting until her eyes and hands couldn't take it anymore. Sometimes I take my
mom to Whippoorwill or CottonBelle since I know they both have a place for her to sit when I shop. She chats with the
store personnel or shoppers or anyone she can grab :>) but she leaves me to shop. I try to show her my fabrics
just to keep her involved. But I have gone by myself as well. All depends on what's going on at that time. From your
description of the shops, it sounds like I have been to Peggy's but not to Tomorrow's Treasures. I'll have to add that
to the list too. We have our train tickets, and I think I found a hotel that will work, so now all I have to do is
tell my mom. I don't like to do that too far in advance since she doesn't do too well with dates these days and she'll
think I'm coming down next weekend and then get disappointed when I don't. So, it's best to tell her shortly before
we leave. Looking forward to meeting you too!!!! -- Alice in NJ, Royal Cybrarian http://www.ourcyberfamily.us/

common name so maybe I'll be able to find out more if I keep looking. There are some ink stains on the quilt as if
purple ink has been spilled on it, so perhaps that's why it was given away. I plan to take it to a dry cleaner to see
if they can safely remove the stains. Even if they can't remove it the stain is quite well disguised against the dark
colours of the quilt. I expect old quilts to show signs of their age, including stains and marks, and the price I paid
for it reflects the fact that it isn't in perfect condition. I added some more photos of some of the blocks, so you
can see them in more detail if you're interested. They're at: http://bean-sprouts.blogspot.com/2006/11/down-time.html

The last two days when the mail has arrived I have been squished, people wishing me well with my upcoming surgery. You
know, I think I am as addicted to fabric as Sunny is and I haven't cut my first square but I am ready when able. I have
only been collecting material since August and I have one of those big tall mesh laundry baskets full, I bet it weighs
over 50 lbs, maybe just 25, but I can't carry it out of the laundry room, going to have to get nephew to do so. This
is not including the material that I have already bought for two complete quilt projects. It does include my magnolia
since I have no idea what I am going to do with it yet. It also doesn't include all the squares that I have bought and
one fat quarter of fabric that I just didn't want to wash by itself and was too lazy to hand wash at the time. I have
thanked the persons that sent the material/squisheys in private, but want to let everyone know how much you all mean to
me. I know with your all's prayers and thoughts and concerns for others that I will make it through this surgery and
will be piecing that quilt by the end of January if not earlier. I am so excited. As you know I have more projects
that I can probably ever get completed but I am sure going to have fun trying. While I am not able to do anything, I
already have planned what I am going to do. First, I am going to address all our Christmas cards, by hand I might add,
the last few years it has been such a chore just to get them done that I have used labels that I click one button and
print 90 of them and then slap on envelopes and sign our names. Kind of rude I think, and surely generic and
impersonal. Second, I am going to get me some plastic containers, maybe 4, to start with, and am going to separate my
fabric and refold it all so it will take up less room, I can do this all from the recliner where I will probably be
living for a few days. On the other hand I might just do that and have Jay neatly lay it in drawers for me. I have an
entire chest that can be cleaned out and used to store fabric. This is if I have time before the surgery, to clean out
those drawers. I just want to say that I love each of you and appreciate all you do for everyone. Jacqueline in KY

Hi Cats, Thanks for your comments. When I ironed one after I had finished it, it turned out to be very suitable for a
coaster - the batting melted because the iron was too hot after my daughter ironed her work jeans with it. The little
quilt died, went very stiff and anorexic looking so I gave it to the girl over the road who was moving to Qld. as a
memento. I double check the iron setting now. Must say though, my daughter has never been one to iron her clothes - I
thought she didn't know how to use one but wonders never cease. Regards, -- Di Maloney Please remove 1 from email

I have some of the yellow honeycomb fabric that I used in my Scrappy September blocks. I feels really nice. So nice
that I bought it even though I wasn't sure the honeycomb pattern would fit in with my other scrappy fabrics for that

dragonfly Do-It-Yourself Round-Robin UFO. And I'm using only "quality" fabrics in that one. Can't say how
either of them wash. They are NOT see-thru fabrics. The weave seems tight enough. They don't ravel at lot when I cut
them. I might have to hop right over to my local Ben Franklin and get some of those green dragonflies today. I owe
myself a treat of some kind. (One of those rough weeks that deserves a reward at the end!) Our Ben Franklin stores in
the Reno/Sparks/Carson City area have wonderful quilt departments with only name-brand and LQS quality fabric. Thanks
for the link. I think I need to give in to some good temptation today! Kay Ahr in NV

Sort of - I had to know how to design it so that I could have a starting point... I think the design in the book is
probablly a bit narrower in the star than the squares, and that I can redraft out, but I wasn't 100% sure where to
start... Thanks for writing in. ~NS JPgirl wrote: [quote:829986e6c9]Couldn't you just get some graph paper and draw

Okay.... will reply here in case anyone else is interested. Smart and Final has a couple of different types of non-
terry kitchen towels in stock. 1. White with very narrow (2 heavy threads) red stripes every (generous) inch.
Package of 6 for $6.55 plus tax. These are labeled as Glass cleaning towels, aka "bar towels", measure
16" x 28", hemmed edges if not selvedge. I have used some of these to put applique on to demonstrate the
idea. They are really nice towels. 2. "Flour Sack" towels. These are huge, 28" x 29". Very
tightly woven white cotton. This is the fabric that really is made for flour sacks. Hemmed if not selvedge. 2 package
sizes.... 3 for $3.99 or 12 for $13.15 (plus tax). I also have and use these towels. Planned to do embroidery on
them for gifts but ended up using a bunch of them in the kitchen. (For you SCAdians, I also use them as
"napkins" in the event kit. <G> ) Pati, in Phx Kate G. wrote: [quote:0ee11af63c]Wasn't it you who was

Marie [/quote:d24b2d77c9] Lots of possible variants: No bets/no bluff strip poker: Deal out cards, keep hand as is or
draw new cards, then all show cards to determine winner of the hand. When the hand ends, the winner of the hand gets a
fabric strip from each of the losing hand holders. Each player can only play as long as she/he has fabric strips. This
sort of game takes less time than the betting and bluffing sort. For a game that keeps the betting and bluffing and
possibly moves more fabric you could use fabric strips instead of chips during a regular poker game. Winner of each
hand takes the pot as normal. You won't need to actually have chips to play, just fabric strips. Want to play with
chips? Have players buy chips with fabric strips at "the window" before they play. At end of game time the
players have to cash in the chips for fabric strips. The upside here is that you could add other casino/card games
(Black Jack or Roulette) if you wish, but the downside is that you will need a lot of chips to run the window. Debra

Hmmm....could you play regular poker using strips of fabric instead of chips? Before the meeting you could let members
know what width of strips to bring. Last year we had Linda Ballard come to guild. She asked everyone to bring 6 -
6" squares of fabric. We turned one square in to her and played a game with the rest. She provided dice with
"L", "R", "C", or a dot on each side. You rolled the die and passed a square left if you
got L, right if you got R, into the center pot if you got that and did nothing if you got a dot. The table played
until only one person had any squares and she got to keep those and the ones in the pot. Then Linda passed out a
pattern to use the squares and the pattern had one of the squares we turned in stapled to it. That was fun. I found
the dice at the local game shop. When I bought them the sales girl asked me what they were because lots of "old
ladies" had been buying them lately. :-) You can see the dice at: http://dicegames.com/l-c-r.html marcella

This is the first time I ever managed to mis-size something so badly. I am usually pretty good at considering the seam
allowances in my quilts. I figure my mind has been out in the ozone somewhere as of late. Well I am going to have
to either take off a row and then make a boarder or make another 7 blocks. I was leaning toward making the added
blocks until I discovered that I didn't have any more of the background fabric I use for the blocks. So now it looks
like I will be taking off a short row and putting a boarder around the rest of the finished top to make it the size I
want it to be. I am giving myself day or so to think it over. I may just try to match up the fabric and do more
blocks. First things first. I need to let the eyes size things up to be sure I am getting exactly the effect I want
for this quilt. julia "Kate G." <grovesfam@NOcomcastSPAM.net> wrote in message

Have any of you used Dryer Balls? I'm making a quilt now that I wanted to preshrink the batting (it's Hobbs 80/20 -
my favorite batting). I put it in my front loader washer & washed it on delicate, then put it in the dryer on air
fluff with the two dryer balls & two tennis balls. The batting came out of the dryer so nice - soft, no wrinkles.
I just love the way it feels. One of my Project Linus volunteers told me about the Dryer Balls. I had seen them
advertised, but figured they were like my DH says - made to sell, not to use! That's all I use in the dryer now. We
never use perfumed dryer sheets for Project Linus blankets because some of the kids that receive our quilts already
have compromised immune systems & don't need the added perfume. These Dryer Balls are wonderful for that situation
- makes the blankets fluffy, but no added chemicals. -- Donna in Idaho Reply to daawra3553 at yahoo dot com

Thanks, Polly! Guess I'm trying to make this too hard, huh? LOL So I'll just make a decision and run with it. --

help with. I have a copy of WW on my bulletin board right now. My picture doesn't show borders at all so I'm certain
the quilt is just fine with none. So. Let's think backwards. How wide is your quilt? How wide do you want it to be?
If you want things to be easy, (why not?) a better question is how wide is your backing? Polly "Donna in NE

blocks are 5 1/2" finished. Is there a formula to use to know what size borders I need? TIA -- Donna in NE La.

Cindy woke up with a big smile on her face. It felt permanent, and she was sure it was. She glanced over at her sister
Karen, sleeping so soundly beside her. Lisa was half draped over Karen, her face nestled into Karen's breasts. Cindy
ran her fingers through her sisters hair which had become knotted together and was still sticky wet. Cindy's smile
widened as she recalled how many times she had orgasmed on Karen's face that night. Cindy pulled back her beautiful,
heavily stained bed spread, which Lisa called `her cunt quilt'. Each stain being a reminder of a flowing or gushing
pussy. So many flowing pussies that now many of the stains overlapped. Cindy brought the quilt to her nose and
breathed deeply. A wonderful aroma filled her lungs, and she sucked on one of the newer stains hoping to capture the
taste of the girl that left it. -=- This message was sent via two or more anonymous remailing services.

This was the first time I saw the site for the hug quilts. I love it! Especially thankful that I have been gifted with
the most beautiful of all hugs. Right now the quilt is on the wall and it promenently displayed. Once I started
walking again I felt safe enough not to be wrapped up in it all the time :). You have no idea how much this quilt has
meant to me. It definitely gives me a strength that keeps me going when things get tough. love to all the RCTQ'er
